Hi Annika, check out the sector leads at HBS angels here: https://www.hbsangelsny.com/sector-leads. Happy to chat. A few years ago the group got pitched by this company https://streetsmartsvr.com/ and I remember several angels being interested. Not AR but maybe a useful example. The group also has (or at least used to have) a relationship with angels investing in defense companies and startups founded by veterans.

I previously worked at Meta and was heavy into the QA / dogfooding of P1/EVTs across Quest and Ray Ban. It's a super exciting field, especially with waveguide supply chains maturing. Interested in seeing Snaps big announcement mid next month

Welcome Josh to the Founders group! Josh Levy is co-founder of Resemblance and recent MPP grad, where he focused on behavioural game theory among other things. He is working with Nathan Cloos (AI PhD at MIT) to simulate human behaviour to help companies test product concepts, ads, packaging, and pricing before going to market. But he think there are many more interesting applications of this tech. They are pretty early but have recently signed a few pilots, incl. with Mark Anthony Group, a $3B beverage company that owns White Claw. They scaled this from 0 to 100K ARR in a year and are in acquisition talks of being acquired by another venture-backed edtech startup in Bangladesh that is leading the market.

Former Fortune 500 CTO and currently an active angel investor, LP, and Managing Partner at AmeriKan Investment Forum, a 400+ member angel group. I did an exit on a crypto venture in 2023. Fun Fact about me: Exactly 19 years ago this month, 14 solution architects at AT&T were asked to sign an NDA before the project details were disclosed. I was one of them. A year later we launched iPhone in the US market. The original device was initially released as a 3.5-inch touchscreen device that combined an iPod, a mobile phone, and an internet communicator. It was sold exclusively in the US and required a two-year contract with AT&T. AT&T was my training ground that helped me today to become 2X founder.

Welcome Ben to the Founders group! Ben used to work at Apple. He is now developing new sensor and location/mapping technologies for mobile, as well as a novel new mobile product that can incorporate some of those (all in stealth). In the past he has founded a few different mobile apps in the peer-to-peer networking, wellness, cryptography, and location spaces. Sorry I didn’t reply to the above posts - I am in the process of a cross-country move and as a result am not online and able to review every post with high rigor right now. I understood (perhaps incorrectly!) the above to be asking about LA founder meetups specifically, which is on topic. Housing is not on topic for this channel. There is not currently an LA group so please to all feel free to use the @[email protected] or @[email protected] channels as relevant for LA activities! There was a recent poll but we do not have sufficient community interest or volunteers to manage and moderate an LA channel based on the results at this time.
