I have updated the Dropbox doc that was sent by Stefan. Take a look at it.
What I did:
I built upon the excellent foundation that was already documented and reviewed the materials shared by @142279549415587 to ensure the proposed Investor Subgroup is fully aligned with the broader Harvard in Tech (HIT) mission, existing initiatives, and current subgroup activities.
My goal was to position this group not as a standalone effort, but as a complementary platform that collaborates with and amplifies the impact of other HIT communities.
In developing these recommendations, I also drew upon my experience helping grow an angel investment forum from approximately 140 members to more than 400 members over a two-year period, creating a community that helped founders raise more than $20 million in capital. Many of the ideas incorporated into this framework reflect lessons learned from building investor engagement, facilitating deal flow, supporting founders, and fostering meaningful collaboration among investors.
To that end, I expanded the framework to include:
Executive Summary
Mission and Vision
Strategic Objectives, including:
Supporting Harvard Founders
Investor Education & Development
Deal Flow & Co-Investment Network
Thought Leadership & Market Intelligence
Harvard Ecosystem Collaboration
Proposed Programming (monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual activities), with an emphasis on coordination and cross-collaboration with existing HIT groups
Additional strategic initiatives and growth opportunities
Key discussion questions for HIT leadership and founding members to help shape the group's direction, partnerships, governance, and long-term impact
To preserve the integrity of the original proposal and ensure that all prior ideas remain intact, I left the existing document unchanged and added my expanded recommendations as a separate section at the end for review and discussion.
My hope is that these additions help provide a more comprehensive framework for building a high-value investor community that strengthens connections among Harvard founders, investors, operators, and the broader innovation ecosystem. Ultimately, I believe this group has the potential to become a strategic asset for Harvard in Tech by helping founders access capital, enabling investors to discover high-quality opportunities, and creating stronger ties across the Harvard entrepreneurial and investment communities.
